A new star is born

Just in case you had any doubts, I don't think this whole Energy Star thing is going anywhere anytime soon. As a matter of fact, the The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is taking over the oversight and administration of the Energy Star program from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

The two will be working together to continue to refine the standards and testing methods to make sure products with the Energy Star label meet the highest standards for energy efficiency. Speaking of the highest standards, they will also be introducing the new "Super Star" designation which will be for products that achieve higher levels of energy efficiency than plain ole Energy Star products.

The Energy Star label
