Build at your own risk
Building in such a way that we use less water, save on cooling in the summer and heating in the winter, make use of sustainable materials, etc. just makes good sense. Why would you not try and build homes and buildings that will last longer and cost less to operate?
And as a builder and a businessman, you have to be looking at your payback for making certain decisions. Green building is all the rage right now, but before you hop on the bandwagon, here are some risks to be aware of. Especially if you're going for some type of certification from LEED or NAHB.
