Fort Worth home goes zero energy with wind power
The old adage that everything’s bigger in Texas doesn’t extend to the power bill for one Fort Worth home. Homeowner Kevin Eden decided to use the breeze coming off of Eagle Mountain Lake near his property to power a $15,000 wind turbine which, combined with other energy saving building materials, has turned the family’s 1,015-square-foot ‘casita’ and future mother-in-law residence into a zero-energy home while construction begins on the more spacious 3,500-square-foot main house.
