Get off the grid with ZeroHouse

By: McCoy's Editorial Team

It is designed to operate with no connections to external sources of power or water

There's low energy consumption homes, Then there are really, really low consumption homes. Then there are homes that are designed to operate on zero energy. That's right, zero energy. They are so well designed that they are truly "off the grid". We have all heard that term before, but can it really work?

Enter Austin designers Scott Specht and Louise Harpman and their ZeroHouse. The ZeroHouse is designed to create enough solar power to not need any electrical hookup and can process enough rain water to not need any additional water source. Yes, it's a very small space, but what can we learn from this design that might be applied to larger homes?

Who says ZERO can't add up to big things
