You can always date yourself quickly by talking about how many television channels there were when you were growing up. For me it was three, and oh yeah, PBS made four. Nowadays, it's hundreds of channels, most of which we don't ever watch anyway. And along with only four channels came a lot fewer screens for viewing in the home.

Today's homes have come a long way in terms of what's available for viewing and listening to media. The home theater or media room has become a more commonplace feature in newer homes. As such, the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) and the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) have gotten together to share knowledge. Remodelers can learn from CEDIA the latest when it comes to home electronics and newest home technology trends.
