The life cycle of the typical American home owner. You buy that first starter home when you're young, and it's something to be proud of. As your family grows, you may decide to move up to a bigger home or remodel the one you're in. And finally, for some, once you become empty nesters you may look to downsize and get a smaller place that's easier to maintain.
OR, you could just skip all that and buy one of the most expensive homes in the world. If you just did that from the get go, you probably wouldn't run out of room and ever need to move.
