Keep the cooler closed!
Attached garages are pretty much a regular feature here in Texas. It's very convienient to walk out of your house and access a nice big storage area. Who keeps a car in their garage anyway?
But guess what? Attached garages as they are typically built here in the south, are not very energy efficient. It's like when you're tailgating at the football game, and you're always telling your buddies to keep the cooler shut. The more you keep it shut, the colder the beverages are going to stay. It's like cutting a hole in the side of your cooler and covering it with cardboard. Here are some ideas on how to improve the energy efficiency of your attached garage.
