Louisiana passive house gets a summer performance report

We’re only in July and it’s already been a long, hot summer—nothing new for Southern states like Louisiana. So now is the time to gauge how homes built during the cooler months are going to stand up against humidity and brutal triple-digit temperatures. Monitoring and reporting performance after a home is built to a particular standard is a valuable step in evaluating actual versus anticipated or projected performance. Built in February 2010, a 1,200-sq.-ft. house in South-Central Louisiana designed to meet Platinum LEED and Passive House standards has so far been performing as designed.
