Mirror, mirror, who's the greenest builder?
Look out home builders! The builder of the future isn’t a home builder at all. The National Association of Home Builders presents an annual award for innovative green and cost-reducing building techniques. For the first time the EnergyValue Housing Award for Builder of the Year was presented not to a builder, but to a Residential Building Technology Program from Yavapai College in Chino Valley, Arizona. Entries are evaluated based on energy value, design, construction, marketing and customer relations, and participation in energy programs. Winners were honored at the International Builders’ Show. Yavapai College was awarded Builder of the Year for their influence on the industry and their innovative, energy-saving measures for Habitat for Humanity housing.
