Mr. Green Jeans
Trying to stay on the green side of things with this new home you're building? Trying to rack up LEED points and brownie points and do the eco-friendly thing every chance you get? So naturally, using shredded, recycled jeans for insulation would be the green thing to do, right? And it just sounds cool.
But this next post says, hey, wait a minute. Just because something is recycled doesn't necessarily mean it's always the best choice for each particular situation. And that goes for cellulose insulation as well. There may be times when good old fashioned fiberglass insulation installed correctly as part of an overall system is the right choice for long-term energy efficiency and sustainability. And that's really what green building is all about, right?
Keep your pants on and do some homework when choosing insulation
