Times are tough all over, but if you do find yourself fortunate enough to be considering a remodeling project, the timing could actually be just right. If you have a project in mind, it may be "a perfect storm" in terms of labor availability, materials costs and government tax breaks.

The price of some core building materials like lumber and Sheetrock are very low right now. Lumber prices are at an 18-year low and there is way too much drywall in the pipeline for the current low demand. Other raw materials like copper used in wiring are also down in price. Labor is plentiful right now and the Federal government is incentivizing home improvement projects that result in energy savings. This is one instance where the price is right.
