alternative building methods

Ever heard of the expression, "out on the edge of the cow catcher?" The cow catcher is that big, pointed metal grate on the front of old locomotives. The purpose of the catcher was so that if a train were to meet up with a random cow out on the tracks, the catcher would not-so-gently displace the cow from the tracks.

So anyway, if you're out on the edge of the catcher, you're way out there in front of everybody. Riding right on the edge where anything can happen. Meet Pliny Fisk from Austin, Texas. This guy is really out there when it comes to alternative building methods and alternative building materials.
