Would you live in a glass house?
The Germans are coming, and they’re bringing their efficient and modern housing with them. HUF HAUS, a German architecture-firm and home builder, has started to supply their custom-designed, prefabricated post-and-beam houses to American customers. With typical German efficiency, they construct the home’s walls and parts in a climate controlled, clean warehouse and then ship it to the build site. A team of three to five HUF workers then assembles the house and makes it weather-tight within a week!
Sounds great, but the homes are extremely expensive. They have been described as looking spaceship like, and have floor-to-ceiling glass for most of the exterior walls. So, I guess you have to ask yourself, are you ready to live in a glass house?
