Gilbert named store manager of Palestine McCoy’s
PALESTINE, Texas, October 26, 2009–McCoy’s Building Supply announced today the appointment of Anthony Gilbert as the manager of its store located at 2200 West Oak.
“I plan on being manager here a long time. I spent a long time moving around and learning as an assistant manager in various McCoy’s throughout Texas, and I’m looking forward to applying that experience to the Palestine community,” Gilbert says. “This is my last stop, and my wife, Lindsay, and I are interested in raising our son, Taylor, here.”
Gilbert says his first task as a new manager is focusing on uniting his team.
“McCoy’s is all about the team working together to create an energetic environment and help serve our customers like no one else,” Gilbert said. “I’m going to work on refocusing my new team, meeting weekly to see how we can serve each other and the Palestine community better. There’s a high level of excitement on the team right now, and I think customers are going to feel that when they walk through the door.”
When asked about future plans for the store Gilbert says the focus is simple.
“I want McCoy’s to be the place to shop for building materials in Palestine,” Gilbert says. “I am committed to providing Palestine and its surrounding communities with the products they need, and I want to make sure our core products are always in stock. We already have an extensive product selection in place today and if you don’t see it, we can order it. Our Special Orders system is better than ever and there’s not much that we can’t locate for you.”
Gilbert has worked for McCoy’s for four years and worked for Lowe’s prior to that. Regional Manager Waylon Walker expressed enthusiasm at the opportunity of working with an experienced manager like Gilbert.
“I am excited about Anthony’s broad spectrum of experience in the retail building supply industry," Walker says. "He is a hands-on manager and will make sure that our operation in Palestine is top notch. With his talents, I feel confident that we will recapture the significance we desire, and provide the best value for our customers here.”
