Weimar McCoy’s crew celebrates two centuries of experience
WEIMAR, Texas, July 26, 2011—When you walk into the McCoy’s Building Supply store in Weimar, Texas, you can expect to see a few familiar faces. McCoy’s Weimar crew ranks as one of the top five most tenured crews at the retailer’s 83 locations. The 15-member crew has more than 200 years of collective building experience.
CEO Brian McCoy recently visited the store to personally show his appreciation to sales associate Joe Evanicky and yard leader John Vavra for their years of service. On August 3, Evanicky celebrates 30 years with the company and Vavra celebrates 35 years on August 26.
Long-term service with McCoy’s is worn as a badge of honor. Employees who rank in the 500 most-tenured positions in the company receive a sticker with their tenure rank to wear proudly on their name tags. Evanicky ranks as 30th on the list of most tenured employees at McCoy’s, while Vavra ranks 11th. A wall in the common area of the company’s headquarters in San Marcos, Texas displays the top 500 employees names.
