The Makita 18 V X2 LXT® hedge trimmer is powered by two 18 V LXT® batteries (36 V), so you get 36 V power and runtime for corded and gas-powered demands, without leaving the 18 V LXT® platform. Model XHU04PT is a kit and includes two fast-charging 18 V LXT 5 Ah batteries and an 18 V dual-port charger that will charge two batteries simultaneously for increased productivity and less downtime. It's part of Makita's expanding 18 V Lithium-Ion system, the world's largest cordless tool system powered by 18 V Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over discharging and overheating.
