McCoy’s Building Supply Team Member Retires After Nearly 27 Years of Service

WESLACO, Texas–McCoy's Building Supply announced today the retirement of Marcelino Rangel, a long-time employee at its Weslaco location.

After nearly 27 years with the company, Rangel has decided to retire and begin the next stage of his life.

“I worked with Marcelino four years,” store manager Rudy Dena says. “He’s been a great employee, and I’ll miss having that great leadership on my team. My crew has always looked up to him and relied on him for guidance. You can always count on Marcelino to get the job done.”

Rangel worked as a member of McCoy’s lumber yard crew.

Long-term service is celebrated at McCoy's. Employees who rank in the 500 most-tenured positions in the company wear a sticker with their ranking on their name tags. Rangel, who joined the company in September 1981, ranked number 43.

"We wear our years of service on our nametags with pride," President and CEO Brian McCoy says. "It makes me very proud that so many team members have dedicated themselves to the long-term success of McCoy's Building Supply. We're a family business, and our employees are like family." After retirement, Rangel plans on assisting his daughter with her Weslaco-based rehabilitation business.

Founded in 1927, McCoy’s is a family-owned retail building supply company providing a complete array of building materials and services to its customer base of those who are “born to build.”  The Texas-based company employs more than 2,000 people and operates 85 stores in five states, including Arkansas, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.  Visit www.mccoys.com for more information.
