McCoy’s Building Supply realizes that as times change, the needs of our customers are constantly evolving.  In order to stay competitive, we work hard to answer those needs in innovative and beneficial ways.

Our Estimating Department was created in early 2016, and works alongside our Strategic Accounts Department to win bids, drive business and help strengthen relationships with homebuilders by placing our company at the forefront of the building industry.

With locations spread across 5 states, following specific building practices that are “standard” to each region and store presents a particular challenge, but our team answers the call. McCoy’s estimators work diligently to stay up-to-date on market standards for all of its 86 locations and the complex computer software needed to generate top-notch estimates in a timely manner. 

When a builder walks into any McCoy’s store with a set of plans, they’ll receive back a professionally-presented material list, framing layout and a priced bid within just a few days. 

How the Process Works:

  • Take-Off Requests are submitted to headquarters from any McCoy’s store location. Stores provide estimators with the customer’s plans and appropriate details relevant to the job.
  • The Estimating Team creates individualized material lists that include notes and color-coded framing layouts. The take-off itself includes sizes, species and quantities of everything required to build a given project, from the bottom plate of the walls up.
  • McCoy’s Strategic Accounts Department takes the material list and emails a customer-specific bid back to the store, as part of the estimating package.
  • The entire process takes between 3-5 business days after the original take-off is submitted.
