Completing an internship will give you a competitive edge in the job market. McCoy’s Corporate Headquarters houses departments which support the daily activities of 88 stores, 3 distribution facilities and two door manufacturing plants. An internship at McCoy’s provides real world experience in the corporate environment, an invaluable advantage for any business student.
Paid Internship
This internship consists of up to 240 paid hours of work at McCoy’s Corporate Headquarters in San Marcos (including Mondays from 4-7 pm, when you will mentor students in the MGT 4390-O class) and will fulfill the requirements of your specific major. Most departments follow 8am-5pm office hours on Monday through Friday and will work around your class schedule. Students tend to average 14-16 hours per week during this semester of the internship.
Internships are available in the following departments: Human Resources, Program Buying, Replenishment, Marketing & Advertising, Strategic Sales, Finance, Credit, Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Training & Development, Risk Management, Store Planning, Estimating, Facilities Management and Fleet Management.

1. What are the requirements of the internship?
You must be a student in the McCoy’s College of Business and able to commit one semester (Fall or Spring semesters) to the internship.
2. Do I have to take MGT 4390-O to qualify for acceptance into the internship program?
Yes- internships are offered to class participants only.
3. Will I be offered a job at McCoy’s after my internship is completed?
The internship does not guarantee job placement at McCoy’s but some students have made the transition to full-time employment at McCoy’s upon completion of their internship.
