Store Transition FAQs

On July 12, we announced our plan to sell our Greenville, Vicksburg, and Laurel, Mississippi stores and our Searcy, Arkansas store to the CNRG family of stores. Effective August 1, these stores will begin to serve their communities under the brand Home Hardware Center.

The team at your local store will remain the same, and the commitment to serve you well also remains.

Representatives from Home Hardware Center will be reaching out to those of you with commercial credit accounts with details on how your account will transition.

To help you during this transition period, we’ve prepared answers to some common questions.

Do I need to pay my current McCoy’s invoice?

All invoices dated 7/31/22 and before are payable to McCoy’s Building Supply per your usual terms. Our credit team can answer any questions you may have about your account. Please don’t hesitate to call us at 512-395-6644 x5155, 8 am – 5 pm, Monday-Friday.

How can I pay my commercial credit account balance?

You’ll have three options in closing out your balance with McCoy’s.

  1. Check / By Mail
    • Remit your check and disbursement information to:
      • McCoy’s Building Supply
        PO Box 1362
        San Marcos, TX 78667

        - OR -

Ask a Home Hardware Center store employee for a prepaid envelope.
  2. Credit & Debit Card / By Phone
    • If you usually pay your account with a credit card, contact us at 512-395-6644 x5155. and we will walk you through that process.
  3. Cash / In-Store
    • Even after 8/1/22, you may go into the Home Hardware Center location and pay your bill via cash in person.

What about online My McCoy’s accounts?

Your My McCoy’s account will remain active for 30 days after the stores become Home Hardware Centers so you can download and/or print your project lists and transaction history. After August 31, 2022, My McCoy’s accounts for the affected customers will be deleted.

Who do I contact if I have questions that are not answered here?

Until July 31, please reach out to us through our customer hotline 1-877-542-8986 or through online services (877) 542-8986 (select option 3) or e-mail [email protected]. You can also call or visit your local McCoy’s and read the press release. Beginning August 1, 2022, you may contact the Home Hardware Center Credit Department at 800-844-7209 or email them at https://www.homehardwarecenter.com/Contact.

I have a McCoy’s gift card. Will I still be able to use it?

Of course! Even after the stores transition to Home Hardware Center, you will be able convert your McCoy’s gift card balance to a Home Hardware Center gift card in store.

Can I still shop at McCoy’s?

If you travel to or do business in Texas, Oklahoma, or New Mexico, we’ll be delighted to serve you in one of our stores. However, we will no longer have a presence in Arkansas or Mississippi and cannot effectively deliver to those markets.

How will this affect me?

You’ll still be greeted by the same team you’ve come to know and rely on at your store and in your community. There may be some changes to store hours while the transition is in progress, but we expect very little disruption. The store teams remain committed to you and your business. Please reach out to your store (the phone number, like many other things, will remain the same) with specific questions or contact Home Hardware Center at https://www.homehardwarecenter.com/Contact.

Why did McCoy’s make this decision?

The stores in Vicksburg, Greenville, Laurel, and Searcy are outside the reach of our distribution network, and as we plan our growth, Mississippi and Arkansas are not in our target geography. The best opportunity for these stores is with an owner who is investing in this geography and in whom we trust to operate and lead well. We have trust and confidence in the CNRG team to do that. They've prepared this information about the transition.
